阿彌陀佛

Amitābha, also known as Amida or Amitāyus, is the principal buddha in Pure Land Buddhism. Amitābha Buddha is known for his longevity attribute, magnetising Western attributes of, discernment, pure perception and purification of the aggregates with a deep awareness of emptiness of all phenomena. Amitābha Buddha possesses infinite merit resulting from good deeds over countless past lives as a bodhisattva named Dharmakāra. Amitābha symbolizes “Infinite Light” (space), while Amitāyus signifies “Infinite Life” (time). By virtue of transcending beyond time and space, Amitābha is also known as “The Buddha of Immeasurable Light and Life”. Amitabha Buddha is holding a lotus stand in his left hand, symbolizing the acceptance of all sentient beings who vowed to be reborn in his Pure Land.

阿彌陀佛,意為無量光, 無量壽,又稱為無量清凈佛、甘露王如來。中國人素來喜歡簡约,故簡稱為 彌陀佛、彌陀等;在大乘佛教信仰中,他是西方極樂世界的教主。凈土宗以 信願行為宗,一心信仰阿彌陀佛,發願往生西方極樂,或持名,或觀想,或觀像,或實相念佛,一心不亂。從事修,到悟入自性彌陀,唯心淨土之理。阿彌陀佛主要為手持蓮台,表示了接引眾生往生淨土之意。
