Barbequed Tofu Slices



  • 2 (32 ounce) package extra firm tofu; 2包(32盎司)超硬豆腐
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil; 6湯匙橄欖油
  • 2 tablespoon barbeque sauce; 2湯匙燒烤醬
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour; 2杯普通面粉
  • 2 teaspoon salt; 2茶匙鹽
  • 1  teaspoon pepper; 1茶匙胡椒粉
  • 2 cup barbeque sauce; 2杯燒烤醬

  1. Drain tofu, and slice into strips. Place tofu in a container, and freeze overnight.

  1. In a small bowl, put 2 tablespoon of barbeque sauce. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl. Dip the tofu slices into the flour mixture, shaking off excess flour.

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry in the hot oil until golden brown. Remove from the oil to paper towels to drain and cool.

  1. Brush the fried tofu slices with additional barbeque sauce, and allow to marinate while the broiler heats up. Arrange them on a broiler pan, or wire rack set over a cookie sheet for best results.

  1. Preheat the oven’s broiler at 400°F or 205°C. Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Broil for 5 minutes, then remove the baking sheet from the oven, and flip each of the tofu slices so that they can cook evenly on the other side. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes, or until the tofu reaches your desired brownness and crispiness, watching closely so as not to burn them.
