Four Main Features of The Main Buddha Hall

五台山大雄寶殿的特點有四

 Special points of interests:

1. Tang-Dynasty style architecture – all wooden, carefully crafted on a grand scale
2. Perfect balance of Beauty and Structure – perfect unison of the horizontal and vertical beams with ‘dougong’, complete with simple roof lines and zen design of windows, achieving perfect beauty and strength in the structure.    
3. Valuable Construction Materials – high grade rosewood imported from Laos, and other materials such as camphor and yew.
4. Bronze Roof Shingles – 24,220 pieces of bronze roof shingles weighing 61 tons cover the Main Buddha Hall. The total weight of the roof structure is 600 tons. 

 （一）唐風古建
規模宏大，規劃嚴整，全木結構、氣魄宏偉。
（二）美和力的結合
仿唐建築斗拱的結構、柱子的形象、梁的搭建等其結構本身受力狀態與形象之間有著內在的聯繫，達到了力與美的統一。而色調簡潔明快，屋頂舒展平遠，門窗簡潔彰顯樸實無華。
（三）取材珍貴
整個大木作結構內外均取材於老撾珍貴花梨木。
（四）屋面銅瓦
整個大殿的屋面為全銅瓦覆蓋，共計銅瓦24220片，銅的重量約為61頓，整個屋面總重量約為600頓。
